The Sheep Experience

Step into our farming world with the Sheep Experience. Learn about a sheepdog’s relationship with the shepherd and sheep, and admire the speed, agility and intelligence involved with gathering the flock. Learn all about the type of sheep we have on our farm, how we care for them, and why we keep them.

Our lambing season runs from mid-March until mid-April. During this time there are small lambs to pet and hold. Watch them play and have fun with one another, springing and jumping. They are a true sign of spring in the Glens of Antrim.

As the weather warms during May, June and July we shear the sheep to keep them cool and to sell their wool. The process of removing the fleece is both technical and challenging as well as necessary to help maintain a healthy and happy flock. During these months guests will have the chance to see a sheep being shorn. Guests can have a go at rolling the fleece.
